Very performant ground surveillance radar

The BATS GR-80 Advanced Ground Surveillance Radar is a powerful night and day sensor developed for border protection and other security applications, detecting 300 targets simultaneously on ground surface with comprehensive geographical coverage.

The advanced GR-80 Ground Surveillance Radar will ensure initial detection, to be followed-up by an electro-optics system.

The system is designed and constructed to withstand harshest weather and environmental conditions in accordance with military standards.

The GR-80 is a high resolution phased array Pulse Doppler radar that operates in the upper "X" frequency band. It consists of printed-patch array antennas. One antenna scans 90 degrees in azimuth and up to 10 degrees in elevation. In order to reach 360 degrees of azimuth coverage, the system can be combined with a positioner or by using multiple antenna panels.

The radar utilizes an advanced, state-of-the-art waveform with modern signal processing techniques for high resolution and high probability of target detection, while having an outstanding capability to reject terrain, ground clutter and other fixed targets.

The GR-80 radar has a low power consumption, small volume, and the full solid-state design enables deployment in almost any area, terrain and weather conditions, while featuring high MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).

The radar is comprised of an RF transceiver module, a digital receiver / signal processor, antenna, DC-DC convertor and a 360 degrees positioner. Detected targets are displayed on a separate PC display, without a human operator in the loop.

The GR-80 radar exists in 5 versions:

  • single plate (90°),
  • double plate (180°),
  • quad plate (360°),
  • extended range double plate (90°),
  • and extended range quad plate (90°).
