BATS has announced the award of a contract by Bahrain Defence Forces, for the provision of a counter-drone capability as part of the country’s Air Defence, which includes an undisclosed number of C-UAS systems and associated logistics and training services.

The contract award ceremony was held on 19 January 2022, in the presence of Bahrain Defence Forces and Rear Admiral (R) Ita Navy Mauro Costa, BATS CEO.

DroneGuard, BATS’ C-UAS solution, features a suite of cutting-edge technology sensors (4D radar, COMINT, COMJAM, Ultra Long Range EO/IR) closely integrated and managed by a C2 system that will enable BDF to detect, classify, track and counter multiple drone targets.

DroneGuard underwent extensive demonstrations and trials with BDF during 2021, and successfully passed 21 over 21 scenarios.

“We are extremely grateful to BDF which, once again, entrusted us with this contract which further consolidates the role of BATS as strategic partner of BDF. In the current regional situation and the growing threats of unauthorized drones, BDF recognize the importance in the role of securing Bahrain airspace. BATS will continue to faithfully serve BDF and support them in strengthening their capabilities, by successfully delivering this project”, said Admiral Costa.
