In Chile, a crew member of a naval helicopter was injured after the aircraft collided with a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone. The media channel RedTv Noticias reports. The drone went right through the windshield and hit one of the occupants in the face, resulting in cuts. The helicopter could be landed safely.

The incident took place while on a patrol flight along the coastline. The victim was to be treated at CESFAM in Santo Domingo. Later he was transferred to the Naval Hospital in Vi ña del Mar. Under circumstances the man is doing well.

Apart from the photos and the first explanation, many things are still unclear, such as how high the drone flew and what the exact conditions were. Helicopter pilots worldwide are called on to be alert for drones, especially when flying low.
