The new legal basis consists of:
- Regulation EU 1139/2018 (EASA basic regulation) extends EU competence to all UAS
- Only civil drones, but possible to opt-in for state and military aircrafts
- National aspects limited to the creation of GEO-zones.
Two important reglementations:
- Implementation Act (IA): requirements related to operation and registration (2019/947, published in EU Official Journal 5/6/2020)
- Delegated Act (DA): requirements related to CE marking, technical requirements, maintenance of UAS and 3rd-country operators (2019/945, published in EU Official Journal 20/7/2020)
